ことしのノーベル賞 ７日から発表
ことしのノーベル賞の発表が、日本の時間で７日夜の医学・生理学賞から始まります。８日には物理学賞、９日には化学賞の発表があります。そして１０日からは文学賞、平和賞、経済学賞の発表があります。
去年は、体のいろいろな部分になることができる「ｉＰＳ細胞」を作ることに成功した京都大学の山中伸弥教授が医学・生理学賞をもらいました。また、２０１０年の化学賞は、鈴木章さんと根岸英一さんの２人でした。２００８年には、今はアメリカ国籍の南部陽一郎さんを入れて、４人の日本人が物理学賞や化学賞をもらいました。
今までにノーベル賞をもらった日本人は、南部さんを入れて１９人です。２１世紀になってから、自然科学の３つの賞をもらった日本人は、アメリカの次で２番目です。
２年続けて日本人がノーベル賞をもらうことができるか注目が集まっています。

This year’s Nobel
Prize winners will be announced on the evening of 7th, Japanese
time, starting with Physiology or Medicine awards. The winner for Physics
will be announced on the 8th, while Chemistry on the 9th.
Finally, winners for Literature, Peace and Economics will be announced on the
10th.
Last year, Yamada
Shinya of Kyoto University was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine
on successfully creating the “iPS cell”, which has the ability to transform
into various body parts. Also in 2010, 2 people, Suzuki Akira and Negishi
eichi, won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. In 2008, 4 Japanese won the Nobel Prize
in Physics, Chemistry, including Nanbu Youichiro who is now an American.
Since the beginning, a total of 19 Japanese
including Mr. Nanbu has been awarded the Nobel Prize. Since the beginning of
the 21st century, the Japanese are the second country after
America with 3 winners in the Natural sciences.
Growing attention are placed on whether the Japanese
can receive the Nobel Prize for the 2nd year running.
